'It's not the broken dreams that break us, It's the ones that we didn't dare to dream.'
The same path I once took,
The same people I once knew,
The same effervescent surroundings I once drank in,
Now struggling to stay alive,
In a tiny corner of my mind.
The tranquility of mind,
Frowns at the memory,
Glaring at it,
As if to tell it to hush down.
The memory shrinks back in fear,
But a moment later it stands up,
Glares right back and decides to fight.
To stay alive, to show me that its still there for me
It won't leave me alone, No matter what I do.
I sigh, and let the memory flow in my mind's eye.
I see the path, the people.
I see their faces and their love for me.
And then I see the face
The face I grew to love and hate at the same time.
I try to shove it away,
But it doesn't go away,
Said face is trying to tell me something,
Its trying to tell me that,
'I tried to be there, I couldn't, I'm sorry'
I see myself running away from the scene,
From the face.
From the malice, the pain, the overbearing silence,
Right back into his arms.
The same path I once took,
The same people I once knew,
The same effervescent surroundings I once drank in,
Now struggling to stay alive,
In a tiny corner of my mind.
The tranquility of mind,
